TBSL Awarded Recognised Implementer Status for SQMAS

Technia Business Solutions Ltd has become the first organisation in the UK to be awarded "Recognised Implementer" status for SQMAS, A Quality Management System Developed for SMEs.

SQMAS (Supplier Quality Management Audit Scheme) was launched in October 2014 as a Quality Management System (QMS) specifically designed for smaller companies (SMEs) and the voluntary sector that require a simpler and less expensive scheme than ISO 9001.

Explains MD of Technia Business Solutions, Stuart Watcham:

‘Having achieved accreditation to SQMAS ourselves, we were so impressed with the simplicity of the SQMAS approach that members of Technia’s team subsequently completed a training programme with SQMAS and are now recognized as implementers able to assist other SMEs and NGOs to prepare their own QMS for accreditation to the scheme.  We look forward to the opportunity to work with other organisations to realise the benefits that this scheme can bring to their operations.’

Comments SQMAS founder and MD, Toni Bailey:

‘SQMAS has been developed as an alternative quality management system to ISO 9001. Aimed at smaller organisations, it is much simpler to implement and for the first time provides many businesses with a documented QMS - often an essential requirement when tendering for work.  It has only six mandatory documentation requirements and has reduced implementation costs for many businesses.  SQMAS can also be used to prepare the company for ISO 9001 should this become a necessary requirement in the future.’

‘We are delighted that Technia Business Solutions has achieved Recognised Implementer status and look forward to working with them as we continue to expand the scheme throughout the UK.’
